Tri Hita Karana, Facing Threats Nowadays

Dear readers,

For the past few days, my articles were full of Politics, Criminals, Regulations Issues and any other things that maybe a little bit hard to understand by some people. Now, let's take a deep breath, we look inside, especially as a Balinese.
As a part of Indonesia, Bali has recognized as one of the best tourist destination in the world. Tourism has developed in Bali for the past 20 years with all its impact and potencies. The idea of materializing a balanced development of Bali has seemingly met a challenge growing ever stronger. Problem being faced - at present and in the future. They have become more complex and complicated. Development in the tourism business, as an industry, Bali can rely upon to contribute of 30 - 36 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). But now it highlighted one of the conflict of interest.

Within the last 10 years, there has been on the average 1000 hectares of wet-rice field converted into a variety of functions of tourism facilities such as hotels, villas, and restaurants. More distressing has been the fact that many farmers sons have not objected the loss of their farming land. They are not only reluctant to work on the rice fields, but seemingly thye now prefer to be engaged in professions in hotels, art shops, and even as tourist bus drivers instead of planting in rice fields. It has led to another difficulty in making halt to urbanization, while rice field workers should be invited from outside Bali.

Nowadays, it is very tragic to note that certain individuals have manipulated the traditional community in order to execute certain projects with an aim of taking land into their own hands and to justify it as theirs and righteous. It might be misuse of the traditional balinese community called Desa Pekraman to deliberately change the function of the environment to build a villa.

Physical and non-physical ( social and culture character) of Bali has in effect already changed, to a frightening degree. Tri Hita Karana, as a philosophy of life of the Balinese, consist of Three main concepts. They are:Parahyangan(Spiritual environment), Pawongan(Social environment) and Palemahan(Natural environment). This three philosophies embodies universal values and represents harmonious and balanced human relationships with spiritual, social and natural environment to achieve spiritual and physical wellbeing(Shambhala).

Readers,

I am sure all of you have already know what is happen in Bali now. I really need your constructive feed back, how to make Bali will not lost these high quality values.
